These Localities In Bhubaneswar Declared Containment Zones


Bhubaneswar: To contain the further spread of COVID-19, the authorities of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared two areas in the city as containment zones.

According to reports, residential colony of the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Bidyut Marg, Unit-V and Behera Sahi, Rudrapur, Ward no 4 were declared as containment zones.

No public shall be allowed to move into the containment zones and the inhabitants within the containment zones shall not move out.

The orders further stated BMC will supply essentials and ensure medical requirements for the inhabitants in the containment zones.

All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment zones have been closed.

The BMC also extended the closure of two markets in the capital city due to aggravating COVID-19 situation.

The closure of Unit 4 non-vegetarian market (wholesale & retail) and Bapuji Nagar market is extended up to 1 July 2021 because of aggravating COVID-19 situation in partial modification of BMC’s previous order.

The civic body said the curbs have been extended in large public interest and with a view to contain any further possibilities of spread of COVID-19 virus. The order came into immediate effect.

Shops dealing with essential commodities and medicines are exempted from the above order, the civic body added.
