The first MEMU train runs from Berhampur


Berhampur: The first Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train kick-started in Odisha today between Berhampur and Cuttack.

According to the East Coast Railway (ECoR), 68434/68433 Brahmapur-Cuttack-Brahmapur MEMU will replace 58434/58433 Brahmapur-Cuttack-Brahmapur Fast Passenger and run as per its schedule.

The MEMU train will depart from Berhampur at 7.30 am and reach Cuttack at 11.30 am and will run six days a week.

On Saturday, this train will run as 08434 Brahmapur-Khurda Road MEMU Special from Berhampur till Khurda Road at 9.30 pm. On Sunday, it will run from Khurda Road to Berhampur at 11.45 pm.

The 12-coach train each carrying a capacity of 110 passengers will be helpful in solving traffic issues.

Notably, in another development, the timings of 58423 Bhadrak-Cuttack Passenger will be revised from Saturday. The train will leave Bhadrak at 1.05 pm instead of 1.45 pm and reach Cuttack at 4.30 pm.
