Mumbai: Amazon Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer of Manoj Bajpayee starrer The Family Man, its next original series from India.
Manoj plays a family man who believes that discretion is the better part of valour.
The series revolves around the life of Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee), a “middle-class man who tries to strike a balance between the responsibilities of his family while working for a highly-secretive special cell of the National Intelligence Agency, attempting to spot and prevent large-scale terror attacks on the country and its citizens.
What appears to strike the most is Manoj’s portrayal of two different sides- one of a subtle man next door and another of an intelligence officer.
The show promises a refreshing take on the life of a spy, who not only actively participates in taking on bad guys on the file, but tries to maintain a familiar rhythm back home.
Manoj Bajpayee holds back a profanity, delivers kicks as well as laughs, all in under three minutes. But that was to be expected since we are talking about an actor who has proved time and again how well he knows his job.
With impressive music and intense chase sequences, the show seems to be a roller-coaster ride for Manoj who effortlessly switches from his middle-class life to his gun-wielding avatar on the field.
Directed by Raj & DK, The Family Man also stars Gul Panag, Dalip Tahil, Sundeep Kishan, Darshan Kumaar, Sharib Hashmi, Neeraj Madhav, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja and Shreya Dhanwantary in prominent roles.
The show will be pitted against Netflix’s Bard of Blood, another spy series starring Emraan Hashmi as a professor brought back to the field for a mission.
The Family Man will start streaming from September 20 on Amazon Prime Video.
