Bhubaneswar: For the first time this summer, the maximum day temperature crossed 40 °C at four places in Odisha, informed the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Saturday.
Today, Malkangiri became the hottest place in the state at 41 °C followed by Boudh at 40.5 °C, Titlagarh at 40.5 °C, and Bolangir at 40.2 °C while the mercury touched 40 °C in Nayagarh.
The other places which recorded day temperature of 39 °C or above are Bhawanipatna 39.8 °C, Sonepur and Nuapada 39.4 °C each, Jharsuguda 39.3 °C, and Paralakhemundi 39.2 °C
The day temperature in the Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack stood at 37 °C and 37.6 °C respectively.
