New Delhi: Union Minister Rajnath Singh said the government was “open to every suggestion to curb such heinous crimes” amid outrage over Telangana issue.
Cutting across party lines members stood up to condemn the Telangana rape-murder and demanded in the Parliament that the government to act to protect women and children. Singh said the Telangana rape-murder had brought shame on the whole country and called for “most stringent punishment” to the accused.
He said: I don’t have words to tell you how horrific these crimes are. The Defence Minister wanted a full discussion in the House on the matter.
Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan said: “these types of people (the rape accused in the Telangana case) need to be brought out in public and lynched”.
