Sundergarh: A teenager met with watery grave while taking bath in Koel river under Bisra police station in Sundergarh district on Sunday. The other one has been admitted to the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Bicky Sharma (17) and the injured is Deepak Khandual (22).
Reports said nine friends had gone to Teterkela ghat of Koel river for picnic. While taking bath in the river, Bicky and Deepak were swept away in the strong currents.
Bicky’s body was retrieved by the fire brigade personnel half an hour after he went missing underwater.
It may be recalled that on December 20 last year two students of Deepika English Medium school of Rourkela drowned in the Koel river while they were taking bath.
In November last year, one young man had met with watery grave in the same river while taking bath. He along with four others had gone for a picnic on Teterkela ghat.
