Teachers above 45 yrs in govt, pvt schools to get COVID-19 vaccine soon: BMC Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: While the infection of COVID-19 is on the rise again, mostly in educational institutions, teachers aged above 45 years in government and private schools will receive the COVID-19 vaccine soon, informed by BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury.

“We have prepared a list of 20,000 people belonging to 5 categories- teachers aged above 45 years at government and private schools, makeshift vendors, mall, restaurant & Electricity dept staff in Bhubaneswar,” said the BMC Commissioner and added that these people in COVID-19 vaccination drive in a month or two.

Following detected of fresh COVID-19 infection cases, the BMC has sealed off XIMB, Allen Institute, and IIT Bhubaneswar.

In addition, three positive cases of COVID-19 were reported today from a private school and contact tracing is underway. A contact training desk will be set up soon, the BMC Commissioner added.
