Tamil Comedian Pandu Dies Of Coronavirus At 74

Chennai: Popular comedian Pandu passed away on Thursday due to Covid-19 related complications. Pandu and his wife Kumudha had tested positive for the virus recently and were admitted to a private hospital. He breathed his last at the hospital. He was 74.

Producer and distributor G Dhananjayan took to Twitter to share the sad news with his followers. He wrote that it is very shocking to hear the news about actor Pandu’s death and paid his last respects.

Pandu is survived by his wife, who is also being treated for COVID-19 in a hospital, and three sons.

On the work front, Pandu has performed comedy roles in 500-plus movies, mainly in Tamil and his late 1980s television serial in Doordarshan ‘Panju, Pattu, Peethambaram’ was hugely popular. His debut movie was ‘Karai Ellam Shenbagapoo’ in the early 1980s.
