Talcher’s rogue elephant shifted to Kapilash zoo


Dhenkanal: The rogue elephant, which was captured by forest officials in Dera area in Angul district, has been shifted to Kapilash zoo today.

The rogue elephant that wreaked havoc in several villages under Talcher forest range in Angul district was tranquilised near Anant Pump house in Dera.

Reportedly, the jumbo ran amok and triggered panic in over 10 villages under Talcher forest range. Though forest officials launched several operations to trap the animal, it gave them a slip.

However, a team including forest officials, veterinary doctors, and tranquiliser experts successfully tranquilised the wild elephant on Monday.
