The T20 World Cup 2024 group match between India and Canada in Lauderhill, Florida was called off due to rain, causing wet patches on the outfield at the Central Broward Park stadium.
India topped Group A with seven points from four matches, advancing to the Super Eight stage, while Canada finished with three points and was already eliminated.
The match between the United States and Ireland at the same venue was also cancelled due to a wet outfield caused by continuous rain, which posed a risk of life-threatening flooding in South Florida. As a result, Pakistan was eliminated, and the U.S. secured a spot in the Super Eight stage for the first time with five points, securing second place in the group.
The upcoming match at Central Broward Park will feature Pakistan facing Ireland in the last Group A match. India’s next match will be against Afghanistan in the first Super Eight Group One match on Thursday, while the U.S., placed in Super Eight Group Two, will face South Africa on Wednesday.
