SUV Rams Banyan Tree In Sundergarh; Driver Killed, 6 Injured

Sundergarh: One person was killed and six others were injured after an SUV rammed into a banyan tree on the roadside near Subdega fire station on NH-24 under Talsara police station in Sundergarh district.

Police sources said the deceased was identified as the driver of the vehicle, Bitu Maharaj (38). The vehicle lost control and rammed into a banyan tree.

Reports said four families of Jharsuguda were en route to Chhattisgarh on a picnic programme. They were travelling on two Bolero and a pick-up van.

The driver Bitu Maharaj died on the spot. Those injured are Jagdip More(40), Kunal More(14), Khushi Agarwal(20), Kailash More(50), Dish Agarwal(18) and Roshni More(25). Hospital sources said that the injured have broken hands and legs.
