Sushma Swaraj says won’t contest 2019 polls, cites health reason


Indore: Senior most BJP leader and current External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday said that she has decided not to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“It is the party which decides, but I have made up my mind not to contest next elections,” Sushma Swaraj was quoted as saying by ANI.

On the sidelines of an event here, the Union minister also said that she has conveyed her decision to the party. Swaraj cited health reasons for not contesting the next elections.

Swaraj is currently the sitting MP from Vidisha constituency which she retained in the 2014 polls with a huge margin of over 4 lakh votes.
