Sushant Singh Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty moves SC

New Delhi: Actress Rhea Chakraborty on Wednesday moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of Patna FIR to Mumbai. Rhea also sought a stay on the probe by Bihar police on FIR lodged by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, said her lawyer Satish Maneshinde.

Advocate Satish Maneshinde, representing Rhea, said, “An investigation under Section 174 of CrPC is already under way (in Mumbai). We have sought a stay on investigation by Patna police and transfer of the probe to Mumbai.”

Mumbai Police, which had registered an Accidental Death Record, has so far recorded the statements of over 40 people, including Rhea. No FIR has been registered in Mumbai.

Rhea, a few days ago, had introduced herself as Sushant’s ‘girlfriend’, requesting that a Central Bureau of Investigation probe be initiated in his death. She had also broken her silence on the case, on the completion of one month of Sushant’s demise.

A four-member team of the Mumbai Police had arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday after it was revealed that they had registered a First Information Report against Rhea and five other under charges of abetment to suicide, embezzlement, cheating and conpiracy under Sections 340, 342, 380, 406, 420, 306 of the IPC.
