Surveillance to remain in force till Jan 31 next year: MHA
New Delhi: Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday issued orders to extend the earlier guidelines for surveillance to remain in force till January 31, 2021.
The MHA said there is need to maintain surveillance, containment and caution although there has been a continuous decline in the active and new COVID-19 cases in the country.
It said keeping in view the surge in cases globally and emergence of a new variant of the virus in the United Kingdom (UK), the guidelines have to be adhered to strictly.
The Containment Zones continue to be demarcated carefully and prescribed containment measures strictly followed within these zones.
The Ministry said the Covid-appropriate behaviour promoted and strictly enforced and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed in respect of various permitted activities followed scrupulously.
It advised the states to have a focused approach on surveillance, containment and strict observance of the guidelines/ SOPs relating to Covid.
