Supplementary Budget Of Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Dept Passed In Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: An additional fund of Rs.2252.84 Crore has been passed in Odisha Assembly for augmentation in the current year Supplementary Budget of Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Dept.

The Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department is playing a vital role in implementation of various poverty alleviation programmes under State Sector Schemes, Central Sector Schemes & Centrally Sponsored Schemes including Administrative Expenditure for socio-economic development of rural people.

The total Budget Provision for the F.Y. 2020-21 is Rs.18105.84 Crore. An additional fund of Rs.2252.84 Crore has been proposed for augmentation in the current year supplementary Budget out of which, Rs.2241.34 Crore under Programme expenditure and Rs11.50Cr.under Administrative Expenditure.

The detailed scheme-wise proposals are annexed below.

1) Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Grameen) and Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana

There is a Budget Provision of Rs.3962.00Crore during the F.Y.2020-21 with a target to construct 6,89,990 pucca houses. Till now, a sum of Rs.4366.35 Crore has been spent (includingRs.500.00Crre appropriated from SBM &GGY). Out of that 2,15,000 houses have been completed. There is a proposal of Rs.1514.00 Crore for the current year supplementary budget to meet the target set by the GOI.

2) Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

There is a budget provision of Rs.1500.00Crore during the F.Y.-2020-21. Out of which, an expenditure of Rs.1198.02Crore (80%) has been made.

A proposal of Rs.700.00 Crore has been made towards MGNREGS during the current year supplementary budget, due to proposed enhancement of Labour Budget from 14.50Crore to 20Crore in migration prone districts.

3) National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)

The Budget Provision under NRLM Scheme for the year 2020-21 is Rs.781.57Crore out of which expenditure of Rs.394.24Crore (50%) has been made.

There is a provision of Rs.8.91 Crore during the supplementarybudget2020-21 to meet the additional requirement under DAY-NRLM.

4) Ama Gaon Ama Bikash

There has been a token provision (Rs.1000/-) made under the scheme Ama Gaon Ama Bikash during the current F.Y. 2020-21. However Rs.18.40 Crore has been made provision for the current year supplementary budget in order to drawal of backlog funds of Bolangir and Puri districts under PEETHA sub-scheme.
