Sundargarh: As cold wave swept Odisha, Bonai region of Sundargarh district witnessed partial snow. Normal life was affected due to the teeth clattering cold and snowflake-like frozen dew drops layering up on the roads.
Frost was witnessed in the remote areas of Koida and Tensa in the district early on Saturday morning.
As the mercury dipped to 5.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, the mild frost was found on the farmland at Laikera area in Jharsuguda.
Joda and Kanjipani Ghat of Keonjhar district also witnessed light frost.
It is expected that the freezing cold might prevail here for some more days. There will be further fall in the night temperature.
People were seen putting on their warm clothes while some others were seen huddling around bonfires seeking relief from the cold.
