Sundargarh youth admitted to VIMSAR with suspected COVID-19


Sambalpur: A youth from Sundargarh district was admitted to the isolation ward of VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla with suspected coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The youth, a resident of Hemagiri area in Sundargarh district, was reportedly working in a company in South Korea and had returned to his village on February 22. Since then, he was down with fever, cold and coughs.

He was initially admitted to Hemagiri Community Health Centre and later referred to VIMSAR as the doctors suspected him to have contracted the deadly virus.

The youth will undergo a medical checkup at the hospital and will be kept under observation for the next seven days at the special coronavirus isolation ward, informed a doctor at the Department of Pulmonary Medicine of VIMSAR.

Worth mentioning, at least 2,707 people lost their lives across the globe due to coronavirus so far whereas 80,352 people were found to be infected with the disease.
