Suna Besha: Holy trinity decked up in gold for Pausha Purnima


Puri: The presiding deities of Puri Srimandir were decked up in their golden attire called ‘Suna Besha’ of the Holy Trinity during the ‘Pushyabhisek’ ritual conducted today.

Lord Jagannath and his siblings will appear in Suna Behsa following the ritual of Pushyabhisek’ on the auspicious occasion of ‘Pausha Purnima’.

As lakhs of devotees thronged Srimandir to have darshan of Lords inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the temple administration has made elaborate security arrangements on premises for smooth conduct of the ritual.

The devotees will enter into the temple through the Singhadwar and will exit through the south gate.

The coronation festival of Lord Jagannath is celebrated during the Odia Lunar month Pausha on full moon day. Three Deities are adjoined with various gold Ornaments which is very attractive. The Suna besha of the Holy Trinity is held five times in a year.
