In a bid to aware the people of Odisha about the ‘Subhadra Yojana’, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi flagged off the ‘Subhadra Awareness Van’, on Saturday morning at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar.
Besides CM Majhi, the ceremony was graced by Deputy CM Pravati Parida and other dignitaries.
The Subhadra Sachetanata Ratha will roll across the State till September 16, spreading awareness on ‘Subhadra Yojana’, a flagship scheme of the CM Majhi-led BJP government.
In a major initiative for women empowerment in Odisha, the State government announced Subhadra Yojana, which entitles financial assistance of Rs 10,000 annually to over one crore women in the state for five years till 2028-29 fiscal.
Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will receive Rs 5,000 each in two instalments in a financial year and Rs 50,000 in five years. The money will be directly credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Eligible women beneficiaries will get their first instalment of Rs 5,000 on September 17.
A toll-free number- 14678 has been issued for the successful implementation of Subhadra Yojana in the state.
The portal — www.subhadra.odisha.gov.in — will provide all the information about the flagship scheme.
