Srimandir To Remain Closed For Darshan During Dussehra

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed for darshan during Dussehra, Diwali, Bada Ekadashi, and Kartik Purnima. The decision was taken at the Chhattisa Nijog meeting held at Srimandir Niladri Bhakta Niwas on Monday.

In the Chhattisa Nijog meet, it has been decided to restrict public darshan on 15th October for Dussehra. However, the temple will remain open for devotees on Kumar Purnima on 20th October. Besides, the 12-th century shrine will remain closed on all Sundays in the month of November.

Srimandir“Srimandir will be closed for devotees on the 15th of this month. However, the temple will remain open on the Kumar Purnima, which falls on the 20th. The revised SOP will be issued within the next two days,” the SJTA chief administrator said.

Meanwhile, the administration has requested Habisiyalis not visit Srimandir in the holy month of Kartik. Though there will be no restrictions on darshan, the temple will be closed for three days in the month of Kartik, in November. The shrine will be closed for devotees on November 4 for Diwali, Ekadashi on 15th Nov, and Kartik Purnima on 16th November.

In the Panchuka, Srimandir will remain open for only three days. The temple will remain closed on the first and last day of Panchuka.

On the 18th of this month, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the Yatri Parikrama Marg project under the Srimandir Heritage Corridor project in the northeast corner of the Dolabedi corner of the temple.

Prior to that, the meeting of Niti and Financial Sub Committee was held in which the annual budget of Rs 190,26,5,306 Crore for 2021-22 FY was tabled. It was learned that this year revenue collection from mines, and sand sairats are high. The collected amount will be spent for Rath Yatra of the Trinity Lords, healthcare, education, and social development of sevayats (servitors) and their families.
