New Delhi: Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was given a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rajapaksa arrived here on Friday on a three-day visit to New Delhi. This is his first overseas visit after taking oath as Sri Lankan President.
Rajapaksa said after the welcome that “During my tenure as President, I want to take Sri Lanka-India relationship to a higher level. The two countries have a long-standing friendship. We need to work together for economic development and security of our people”.
