Bhubaneswar: Sri Lankan High Commissioner Austin Fernando visited Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT on August 24.
Addressing students of KISS, Fernando said, “Tribal people are living in a state of deprivation. Only education can eradicate deprivation. So the tribal students should educate themselves to come out of poverty”. He advised students to prepare themselves well to face the challenges of the future.
Fernando appreciated the work of Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and said, “KISS, has proved and set an example for others in the globe. Every student should learn to give something back to their families, community, society, state and country. Everyone should learn the qualities of humanity.
Austin Fernando, his wife Silviya Fernando and Achini Perera, Counsellor of Sri Lankan High Commission also visited the various campus of KIIT and units of KISS.
