Koraput: A spurious gutkha manufacturing unit operating on Koraput-Damanjodi road was busted today following a raid by Semiliguda Police.
Acting on a tip-off about the adulteration at a rented residential house, a police team raided the spot and seized gutkha worth lakhs, labels, packaging items having logos of various brands, and machines used in the production.
Reportedly, huge quantity of gutkha & tobacco products and 11 machines were also seized after the raid.
The owner of the production unit lacked trade license and other required documents, a police official said. Besides, the owner has also been arrested.
