Kendrapara: The much-talked-about Bhitarkanika Mahotsav will conclude today after hosting a three-day spectacular event.
The program was inaugurated in a grand manner. Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty and Odisha Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi were among the various dignitaries who graced the event.
The 3-day extravaganza witnessed performances by famous singers and dancers every evening.
The ‘Bhitarkanika Mahotsav’ is an attempt by the government to popularize the sanctuary and to draw tourists towards it.
The festival was hosted at Nalitapatia village in Dangamala of Rajnagar block with an aim to boost tourism potential of the sanctuary.
Located in the estuarial region of Brahmani-Baitarani, in the north-eastern place of the district, the sanctuary covers an area of 672 square kilometers of mangrove forests and wetland.
