SP chief raps UP BJP govt for not assisting labourers during lockdown

Lucknow: Labourers are still walking home amid COVID-19 lockdown resulting in many deaths, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said.

He hit out at the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh that despite having 70,000 buses in its fleet, the migrant workers could not be given necessary help and cooperation to return to their homes safely.

Yadav said the economy of the country was already in bad shape and added that the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has deteriorated it.

He said the dream of poor, farmers, and labourers have been shattered and the trust of the country’s citizens has broken.
