Bhubaneswar: A South Africa returnee of Digapahandi area in Ganjam district has tested positive for COVID-19, informed Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra today.
“He is symptomatic and has been hospitalised while his family members have been kept under home isolation,” said Director of Public Health Dr Niranjan Mishra.
“His sample has been sent to Institute of Life Science (ILS), Bhubaneswar for the genome sequencing,” added Mishra.
The second phase of the vaccination campaign, for those over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 with comorbidities, began yesterday.
Vaccines are being provided free of charge at the government health facilities and on a payment basis in the private health facilities.
