Sonepur: A contractual worker was dismissed and two employees of Sonepur district headquarters hospital were suspended on Sunday after a video purportedly showing them demanding bribe from the relatives of patients went viral.
In compliance with the direction of Sonepur District Collector Monisha Banerjee, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dilip Panda today dismissed contractual sweeper Sasmita Maharana and two regular employees of the DHH- staff nurse Bhagabati Sa and sweeper Kaushalya Bag on charges of indulging in corrupt activity.
According to reports, the accused trio had demanded money from the attendants of at least 15 women patients at the Maternity and Child Care unit of the DHH on December 27 (Friday). Later, a video of the act was captured went viral.
Taking serious note of the issue, the district administration directed the CDMO to take stern actions against the three employees involved in demanding bribe from the patients at the state-run hospital.
