The Society for Nature Education and Health (SNEH), in collaboration with the Mercury Phoenix Trust, organized a World AIDS Day celebration at Salia Sahi, Bhubaneswar.
The event featured esteemed guests, including Dr. Shivani Devi, a gynecologist and obstetrician from Manipal Hospital, as well as Bandita Sahu and Kavita Sahu from SUM College of Nursing. The three-hour-long program witnessed active participation from hundreds of men, women, and children.
The event commenced with an introduction of the guests by the SNEH’s coordinator, Dibakar Mahali. The guests addressed the gathering, emphasizing women’s health and well-being. Dr. Shivani Devi highlighted this year’s theme, “My Health and My Rights,” to raise awareness about AIDS prevention and protecting young people from its impact. Rajesh Kumar Mishra, Cadre APP from SDJM Court, Chhatrapur, further elaborated on the constitutional right to health.
The program concluded with an awareness walk featuring impactful slogans, a lamp-lighting ceremony, and a pre-choreographed educational dance on AIDS. Additionally, an awareness stall operated throughout the day, providing information about AIDS prevention and care. The event was smoothly managed by SNEH co-coordinator Swastika Sadangi and other staff members, ensuring its success.
