Bhubaneswar: Frequent use of smartphones puts a negative impact on the memory of teenagers.

A study published in the journal Environment International revealed that exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) emitting from the mobile phone have a negative effect on the development of figural memory in adolescents.

The researchers also opined that potential risks to the brain can be minimized by using headphones or the loud speaker while calling, in particular when network quality is low and the mobile phone is functioning at maximum power.

The researchers suggested that limiting the use of smartphone contributes towards the effective functioning of the brain.
