‘Slide-up’ students get last chance to take up Plus III courses

Bhubaneswar: The ‘slide-up’ students across Odisha who didn’t get a chance to take up Plus III courses are now given a last chance to choose their preferred colleges.

As per the notification issued by B Parameswaram, Joint Secretary Higher Education Department, the students who had slid-up to higher option but didn’t take admission during the scheduled period will be allowed to take admission in the higher preference college between October 6 and 7.

The notification also states, the students who have not applied online or taken admission in any of the colleges or have taken admission in a particular college but aspire to continue in another college will be allowed to take admission between October 9 and 11.

The authorities of various colleges have been directed by the Higher Education Department to create more seats above the sanctioned strength for this academic year, only if there are no vacancies to accommodate the ‘slide-up’ students.

Students are directed to go to the choice of their college and apply offline. Admission will be done purely on merit basis as there are no special weightage or reservation in this phase of admission, the notification added.

The students, who have used online Common Application Form (CAF) to apply, can submit the photocopy of their form along with the mark sheet.

The merit list of the selected students will be displayed on the respective college notice boards on October 11th and admission will be completed by October 14th.
