Singer Billie Eilish named Billboard’s 2019 Woman of the Year


New York: Singer Billie Eilish added another feather to her cap after the artist was named the Billboard’s 2019 Woman of the Year.

Billie Eilish will be receiving the 2019 Billboard Woman of the Year award at the Women in Music award night this year. The editorial director of Billboard made a statement regarding why Eilish has been chosen for the honour this year.

The 17-year-old will be crowned 2019 Woman of the Year at Billboard’s Women in Music event on December 12, just a few days ahead of her 18th birthday.

Billie Eilish is the youngest artist ever to be named Billboard’s Woman of the Year.

Taylor Swift will also be honored at Billboard’s event, receiving the inaugural Woman of the Decade honor.

Alanis Morissette, Brandi Carlile and Nicki Minaj will also be honoured at the “Women in Music” event.

Billie Eilish recently became the first female to win the favourite artist for alternate rock at the American Music Awards. Apart from this the Bag Guy singer is nominated for six categories at the Grammys this year. Now, Eilish is all set to receive another honour. The 17-year-old singer is set to receive the Billboard 2019 Woman of The Year award at the Women in Music night in LA.

The newcomer has had quite the successful start in the industry.

The singular pop rebel has achieved more than most artists do in their entire careers: She’s charted a string of hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100, racked up 39 million followers on Instagram, performed at Lollapalooza and sold out three headlining tours in a matter of minutes.
