Mumbai: The famous Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai has received a donation of 35-kilogram of gold. The donation, made last week, would have approximately cost Rs 14 crore.
According to temple trust, the latest donation of 35 kg gold was made by one person. Adesh Bandekar, chairperson of Siddhivinayak Temple Trust confirmed the news and but refused to give the name of the devotee. He also said that the gold was used to make the door and ceiling of the temple.
This gold plating was done while the temple was closed for the annual scheduled programme between January 15 and 19. During this time, the idol is coloured in saffron and “pran pratishta” is performed.
