Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday caught Jagannath Prasad police station SI red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 3,000.
The accused officer has been identified as Sidhartha Kumar Gauda.
According to sources, Gauda had demanded Rs 3000 from one P Raja Senapati to settle a dispute complaint. Following this, Senapati approached the anti-corruption wing and lodged a complaint in this regard.
Based on the plaint, the sleuths of the anti-corruption wing laid and apprehended Gauda red-handed while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification.
A case has been registered in this connection and further probe was underway.
