Puri: Sewage water overflowing from a drain near Puri Srimandir has become a cause of concern for the locals. This has cut a sorry figure of the 12th-century temple.
Meanwhile, locals have criticised the authorities for not finding a permanent solution to the nagging problem.
Residents said that the drain near the temple compound had not been cleaned properly. Solid waste was being dumped near the shrine, they added.
“Municipal workers pull out waste from the drain only to dump it on the road. Within a few days, the waste flows back into the drain and clogs it,” alleged a local.
