Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here informed that several districts in southern and coastal Odisha will witness rainfall in the next 24 hours.
The districts will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours under the influence of the Low Pressure Area over Bay of Bengal. The Low pressure has also resulted in the formation of a trough line from the coastal belts of Odisha to Andhra Pradesh.
Besides, orange alert has been issued for the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada districts.
Similarly, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Bolangir districts will likely witness heavy rainfall. Interior districts of Odisha might also experience rainfall, the Met office said.
One or two places in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sudargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Mayurbhanjh, and Keonjhar might witness light rainfall along with thunderstorm from today afternoon .
