Nabarangpur: At least seven persons including four school students were injured after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in overturned near Chandahandi ghat in Nabarangpur district on Friday.
According to sources, the students accompanied by their parents were travelling in the auto-rickshaw from Siunaguda village to appear an entrance exam at Dhadipani School today.
The mishap occurred when the auto rickshaw driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle turned turtle near Chandahandi ghat and landed in a roadside gorge.
The victims were immediately rescued and rushed to Jharigaon Community Health Centre for preliminary treatment. Later, they were shifted to Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital (DHH).
On being informed police reached the spot and registered a case regarding the incident. However, the auto-rickshaw driver had fled the spot soon after the mishap.
