Seven hurt in two separate road mishaps
Bolangir/Balasore: Nearly seven persons were injured in two separate road mishaps in Bolangir and Balasore districts on Tuesday.
In the first incident, as many as four persons sustained critical injuries after an ambulance carrying patients was hit by a truck on NH 16 near Uttareswar Bazaar ice factory in Balasore district.
According to sources, the incident occurred when an ambulance was on its way to drop a patient at the neighbouring state West Bengal from Bhubaneswar. As a result, all four persons including the patient sustained critical injuries.
They were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.
In another incident, three persons suffered injuries after the bus they were travelling in dashed into a roadside tree near Lachut Chhak under Saintala police limits in Titlagarh of Balasore district.
According to sources, the bus carrying around 30 passengers was en route to Bhubaneswar when the driver lost control over the steering and hit a truck and subsequently rammed into a roadside tree.
