Mumbai: Equity indices started in green on Thursday.
The benchmark BSE Sensex zoomed 501 points or 1.23 per cent to 41,319; while the broader NSE Nifty moved 144 points or 1.20 per cent up to 12,170.
Top gainers in the BSE index include IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, Reliance Industries, Tata Steel and Axis Bank with their shares rising as much as much as 1.96 per cent.
Equities in other Asian markets rebounded with MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rising 1 per cent, reversing Wednesday’s losses. Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.8 per cent, lifting stocks to their highest for the year so far.
