Senior Revenue Assistant Caught Taking Rs 6K Bribe In Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday apprehended the Senior Revenue Assistant of Kodala Tehsil in Ganjam district while taking bribe of Rs 6,000 from a person to process file for issuance of land patta.

According to the Vigilance, Sanjaya Kumar Sethy, Sr. Revenue Asst. (Nazar), Kodala Tahasil, Dist. Ganjam  has been apprehended while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 6000 for processing file for issuance RoR (Patta) in favour of the complainant.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from exclusive possession of the accused Sethy and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sethy from the D.A angle, the Vigilance added.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 26 dt. 21.11.2022 U/s 7 P.C.( Amendment ) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation in progress against the accused.
