Senior citizens hand over Rs 25K cheque to CM for Kerala flood victims


Bhubaneswar: Senior citizens under the aegis of Silver Age Foundation for Elders Trust handed over a cheque of Rs 25,000 to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the elders affected by floods in Kerala.

Expressing solidarity with elders affected in Kerala floods, the members of the activity centre requested the CM that the funds be used for taking care of elders in Kerala.

Silver Age Foundation for Elders Trust is a not-for-profit working for the wellbeing of senior citizens. The Foundation has been set up with the objective of improving the quality of life of elders and promote healthy aging, fight elder abuse, spread awareness on aging and provide specific services for the elderly in the society.

It works at the household level by providing services for elders and at the society-level with Senior Citizens’ Associations to create awareness through advocacy on related issues. Since August 2018, it is running Silver Age Elders’ Activity Centre with music, chair-yoga, sit-dance, smartphone usage programmes for senior citizens.
