Cuttack: Hundreds of devotees gathered in Rajiba village, Cuttack, to participate in a grand ‘Sarathi Satsang’ event dedicated to the self-styled godman, Sarathi Baba. The event, organized by Hitesh Nayak, a devoted follower, featured a series of rituals and bhajans aimed at achieving spiritual peace.
The satsang saw Sarathi Baba’s photo adorned with flower garlands and a peacock feather, placed prominently on a stage. Devotees offered flowers, lit diyas, and engaged in devotional singing, creating an atmosphere of reverence and spirituality. Hitesh Nayak, who spearheaded the event, emphasized that his intentions were purely for personal spiritual fulfillment. “I conducted the satsang for my internal peace. Since I am an ardent devotee of the baba, I held the event and called upon people who are connected with him to attain a moment of spirituality,” he stated.
Sarathi Baba, whose real name is Santosh Raul, has been a controversial figure. He was arrested in 2015 by the Crime Branch of Odisha Police on charges of harassing a woman and her daughter at his Barimula Ashram. Despite his legal troubles, his followers continue to hold him in high regard and organize events in his honor.
