Security advisory withdrawn: Kashmir opens to tourists after 2 months
Srinagar: Kashmir is now open to tourists again as the Jammu and Kashmir government has withdrawn security advisory related to tourism in the state on Thursday.
Tourists were not allowed to visit the state at the start of August days ahead of abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution.
On August 2, the government had issued a security advisory asking the tourists to immediately leave the Valley in view of a terror threat. It had also cancelled the then ongoing Amarnath Yatra, asking pilgrims to also leave the state in regard to their safety.
Three days later, on August 5, the Centre scrapped provisions of Article 370 that granted special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
