Scrapping of essential commodity tag from potatoes, cereals will help farmers


Balasore: The farmers will get the benefit as the Centre has scrapped essential commodity tag from potatoes and cereals, sarpanch Trilochan Panigrahi said.

The sarpanch of Pakhar panchayat has praises the Modi dispensation at the Centre for taking a such a historic step for the wellbeing of farmers. He said such a step will help increase the income of farmers.

Panigrahi said the Centre’s step in this direction has boosted the confidence of agrarian community as  this will bring far reaching implications in the field of agriculture.

The step by the Centre will also pave the way for streamlisation of  cold storage management in the country, Panigrahi said and added that the surplus product of the farmers can be stored for long so that they can get value for their produce.

The new legislation will benefit both the farmers and the consumers.  This will effectively tackle food crisis in the country.
