Puri: The Puri district administration announced the closure of schools on Wednesday due to the visit of President Droupadi Murmu and the Indian Navy Day celebration.
Following the decision of the District Education Officer (DEO) of Puri, all government-run Primary, Upper Primary, and High Schools, as well as private schools within the Puri Municipality jurisdiction, will be closed.
Additionally, classes at Mother’s Public School, Prabhujee English Medium School, Chandra Sekhar Academy, and Xavier School will be suspended for the day.
Nevertheless, the Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) examination, administered by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), will proceed as planned. Candidates are instructed to arrive at the examination centre by 7 AM.
It is noteworthy that President Murmu is scheduled to be the Chief Guest at the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda College, Puri. She will also grace the Navy Day festivities at Puri Beach in the evening as the Chief Guest and will stay overnight at the Raj Bhavan.
