Schools Revert To Usual Timings In Odisha As Monsoon Brings Respite

Bhubaneswar: With the southwest monsoon covering the entire state bringing respite from the heatwave and hot & humid weather conditions, the Odisha Government has said that schools would revert to their regular timetable from Monday (June 24).

Responding to media queries, the State School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond stated that the classes in schools will resume tomorrow (Monday) as the torrid heatwave conditions have subsided in the state.

Minister Nityananda Gond said, “Schools could not run normally due to severe heatwave in the state. Now the weather in the state has changed, so there will be no problem in normalization of school.”

The Odisha S&ME Minister said, “Steps are being taken to make students proficient in mathematics. Besides, learning materials and videos are being prepared specifically for how students can excel in mathematics in the coming days.

This year, special education in Mathematics will be implemented only in Classes 9 and 10 so that students can excel in the national-level examinations, and the same will be made available for all other classes later, the Minister added.
