Cuttack: Vigilance officials today arrested a clerk posted at Bhakta Madhu Vidyapitha in Cuttack for allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe. The accused has been identified as Narayan Sahu.
As per reports, the accused demanded a gratification of Rs 5000 from an assistant teacher, identified as Sumant Kumar Dhania, in order to prepare an Arrears bill of Rs 43,000.
With no other options left, Dhania approached the anti-corruption wing and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint, the officials of the Vigilance department laid a trap and caught the clerk red-handed.
The officials also seized the bribe money from the accused. Besides, a case was also registered in this connection.
