SCB Hospital Opens Dedicated Ward For Black Fungus Treatment

Cuttack: A special ward has been opened for the treatment of Black Fungus (Mucormycosis) infection cases at the Sri Ram Chandra Bhanja Medical College & Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack.

As per reports, the 30 bedded special ward has been opened on the upper floor of the ENT department, Emergency Officer of SCBMCH, Bhubanananda Moharana informed.

Reportedly, the ward was opened after two medically ill patients in the hospital were suspected to have been infected with black fungus.

A special medical team consists of senior doctors from the department of the eye, ENT, medicine, microbiology, and dental diseases was formed for the treatment of Mucormycosis, ENT department chief professor Dr. Subrata Behera said.
