SC Collegium recommends transfer of two Orissa HC judges


Bhubaneswar: Supreme Court Collegium has recommended transfer of two judges of Orissa High Court to Bombay High Court and Jharkhand High Court respectively as well as transfer of one judge from Madras High Court to Orissa High Court.

The Collegium comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Madan B. Lokur, Justice Kurian Joseph, Justice AK Sikri and Justice SA Bobde has made the three recommendations on October 29 (Monday).

While Orissa High Court judge Justice Indrajit Mohanty has been transferred to Bombay High Court, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad was transferred back to Jharkhand High Court.

On the other hand, the SC Collegium has also recommended repartriation of Justice Satrughana Pujahari to Orissa High Court from Madras High Court.

Accordingly, Collegium recommended transfer of the Karnakata High Court judge Justice Raghavendra S Chauhan to High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Similarly, The Punjab and Haryana High Court judge Justice PB Bajanthri has been recommended to be transferred to the High Court of Karnataka. The Gujarat High Court judge Justice AA Kureshi was recommended for transfer to the Bombay High Court.

While, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court judge Justice Alok Aradhe was recommended for transfer to the Karnataka High Court, the Rajasthan High Court judge Justice Nirmaljit Kaur was recommended for transfer to the High Court of Punjab & Haryana.
