Microsoft Corp has named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Satya Nadella as its new Chairman, in place of John Thompson.
Indian Origin Nadella, who replaced Steve Ballmer as Microsoft CEO in 2014, has played a key role in scaling up the tech giant’s business including billion dollar acquisitions like LinkedIn, Nuance Communication, and ZeniMax.
Besides, Thompson, who took over as Chairman from co-founder Bill Gates in 2014, will serve as the lead independent director, the company said.
