Bhadrak: The vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids at the residence and office of a superintendent engineer after he was reportedly caught giving Rs 5 lakh cash to his brother-in-law.
The accused has been identified as Srimanta Sethy, Salandi Canal Division superintendent engineer.
According to reports, Balasore Vigilance SP Narhari Naik along with Bhadrak DSP Maheshwar Sethi conducted simultaneous searches at five places including his paternal house & office in Bhadrak, Balasore, and Bhubaneswar. Besides, raids were conducted at his brother-in –law, Karunakar Sethi’s house.
Sources said Srimanta was sending Rs 5 lakh cash through his brother-in-law. Further investigtion is undeway to unearth the exact reason behind aquiring such amount.
